Project Description
Project At A Glance
Vance Charter School desperately needed a new website to replace their older outdated one. In their community, Vance Charter is a highly respected school for academic excellence, but their previous web presence did not convey this. It was a must for the new site to have a modern feel, be visually appealing on all devices as well as functional, search engine and user friendly, and also easy to maintain. There was an enormous amount of content that needed to be condensed, rewritten, and entered into the new site.

Skills Overview
The most important aspect of the new design was user experience. Parents of enrolled students are the main visitors to the school website. It was a must for the website to be designed from the perspective of a parent’s informational needs. Vance Charter technology staff requested a content management system that was well supported and easy to maintain. This made WordPress an excellent choice as the site’s platform. It was also imperative that the site be responsive, look great and function properly across all screen sizes so everyone regardless of device can keep up to date on the latest school happenings. Branding was also an important aspect of the website. Vance Charter is a NC School of Excellence. It was important that the school website portrayed that.
